Thing 2 complete

Luckily it didn't take me too long to finish off Thing 2.

We already have a twitter account and use it to promote items from the professional literature specific to the interests at Papworth Hospital. It is @pwlibrary and I hope you will consider following us. I tend to do most of the tweets at present and found it interesting to check out Tweet Archive and it confirms that the majority of our tweets are done from a mobile source - my iPad.

We have recently started using and promoting Journal TOCS since the demise of Zetoc. We offer a short hand holding session to get people set up and we have also encouraged some of our recipients of the paper based service to move over. I think we'll need to evaluate this to ensure that an e-service really is better than paper.

Have enjoyed Things 1 and 2 and thanks to all for arranging this. I can enjoy the rest of my Sunday knowing that I am really up to date in at least one thing in my life!!

Playing catch up

Been away for a well earned break but struggling to meet my 12 Things commitments at work, partly due to work load but also NHS IT - I guess it could be browser version, but haven't got the time or energy to fight it at the moment.

I enjoyed learning about blogs in Thing 1 but I'm not sure we'll use it at work as we have a good Intranet and web site. I can see the personal use potential - in fact on our hols we met a lovely couple from Australia making a really important trip and they had set up a blog to record their journey, thoughts and memories.

Anyway off to finish the tasks required for Thing 2 - I did manage to set up google reader at work and link to a couple of RSS feeds. Will report back later if anyone is reading this?

Back today and have so far changed design but maybe it's too blue??

Well almost completed Task 3 of this Thing but not entirely sure I am totally au fait with all this. I read a few but was too shy to comment!

Some of the other blogs look very professional already, so I must be a real novice.

I have learnt that I must come back to this and jazz up my design as it is really boring - guess that's what happens when you choose 'simple'.

Phew it's taken me a week to get started on 12 Things but at last first task achieved!
